This meadow in Chipstead Bottom is one of the finest that you might imagine -- awash with orchids earlier in the year and still now in October full of colourful flowers. In the foreground you can see the Common Rock-rose.

I really must lug my flora book with me to identify these flowers correctly.
This calcareous meadow is worth a special visit at any time of year.

Have just walked the dog through Chipstead Bottom & can only say the echiums have got even better. Quite stunning.It is a rather special place
