Ashdown Forest Circular, Tuesday 21st October 2008

A chilly west wind and bright sunshine created perfect walking weather for this quite exquisite 9 miles walk lead by Sue. It was part of the Mid Sussex Ramblers' program of walks. The heavy rain the previous day ensured that we had plenty of squelchy Sussex mud and no possibility of any annoying dust! Perfect! We enjoyed a rich variety of habitats, including mixed deciduous and coniferous forests, plus the open country of Ashdown Forest.

The above picture and the two below were taken from the same spot. Using a zoom lens, the apparent anxiety of the walkers is captured unobtrusively. They were hopefully not concerned with the current global financial crises. They were simply concentrating on avoiding stepping into a rabbit hole and breaking an ankle, or worse! Ah! the simple joys of rambling!

This was a fabulous day. Many thanks Sue for leading us on such a lovely walk.
