Old Lodge circular walk, 2.7 miles, 131m ascent/descent from Bushy Willows car park, 15 August 2021

In reverse order here are some pictures from a lovely walk on Sunday 15 August 2021.

The fenced road to Old Lodge is a public footpath and is not grazed by animals.  The flowers are consequently bigger and more beautiful than in the nature reserve itself.  And the insects are more numerous.

There is a Belted Galloway bull in the herd somewhere.  These cows appear to have replaced the former Konic ponies.

Just one stile on this walk.

Curiously we saw no Odonata.

Bell heather and Ling.

Ignore the start point on this map.  The software is flaky and didn't record from the car park.  Subsequently, it was edited to get the distance.  Pre-covid, I lead a similar route in the High Weald Walking Festival.   And it was here that Crossbills were photographed and posted at https://sussexrambler.blogspot.com/2020/10/some-crossbills-in-ashdown-forest-this.html
