White Plume Moth, Pterophorus pentadactyla in a Sussex garden today

The White Plume Moth, Pterophorus pentadactyla is beautiful to behold.  Its caterpillars overwinter and feed on bindweed (Convolvulus). source; http://ukmoths.org.uk/species/pterophorus-pentadactyla   Click on the picture above to see the moth on a leaf in the middle of the picture.

There is plenty of bindweed growing among these blackcurrants and this lovely moth is a bonus from my lazy weeding.
