Finches feeding on a wildflower lawn in Cuckfield, West Sussex, UK today.

Goldfinches
This lawn has not been poisoned with chemicals for more than 30 years and so has very many plants growing in it including native orchids: Common-spotted, Common Twayblades, a solitary Fragrant and a dozen or do Southern Marsh orchids.  These finches love to eat the leaves of Cat's ear, Hypochaeris radicata and after flowering bluetits and finches love the seeds.
