At first it looked like this lone Rock pipit was eating worms. On a closer look it is a fat caterpillar that it is eating here next to the path that runs tangentially from the cliff top above the ASDA supermarket at Brighton marina directly to the under cliff walk towards Rottingdean.
The bird was near the top of the path and allowed me to get within a path width of it for the next pictures. It was low tide, yet for this bird it seemed that there were richer pickings amongst the sparse plants on bare chalk.
This is the second time I have seen one near here. Previously it was on the under cliff walk ignoring walkers and dodging cyclists on the 11th November 2017. Click on any picture to expand it.

FREE gutter clearing service.
In recent days a female blackbird and occasionally a male have been removing detritus from a gutter presumably for nest building.
First frogspawn of the year noticed today in Cuckfield, West Sussex, UK.
A month ago, digging a neglected vegetable bed at least six frogs and two toads were almost a spade depth under solid ground. I covered them up and am pleased to see spawn now after an absence of some years.
