Roasting chestnuts with a Poffertjes pan

 

A Poffertjes pan, above, is ideal for roasting chestnuts.  Just heat the cast iron pan on a gas ring and blacken but not burn the chestnuts for them to peal easily when a bit cooler!

It does take quite some time.

 The results are worth it.
